Over the past three fruit seasons Queensland Fruit Fly (QFF) has spread rapidly across Wycheproof and district, destroying crops in home gardens. With spring just around the corner, adult fruit flies will soon emerge from shelter looking for food. Now is a vital time to take action to reduce the population of fruit fly not only in your garden, but right across our community.
Come along to this free workshop on 25 July to learn how to get your garden into shape for the coming growing season and the various control measures you can put in place to protect your crop from this insidious pest. This workshop, as part of the Wycheproof Fruit Fly Eradication Project and National Science Week, is being facilitated by a local horticulturalist.
There will be physical demonstrations of pruning techniques and the opportunity to ask questions.
