Nature Detectives: Go Wild with Science

An interactive science-based nature play event for families with young explorers aged 2-5 years. This event is all about getting families outside at McMinns Lagoon Recreation Reserve to stop, look and learn more about the natural environment. The session will focus on an introduction to early years science concepts such as; push and pull forces, potion experiments, solids and liquids, animal identification, environmental exploring and more.

The event will commence with an interactive science themed story time by the team at Taminmin Community Library 'Story Time on the Move', followed by an hour of investigative play with Bush to Beach. Learn more about local wildlife through an up close and personal animal encounter with the Darwin Wildlife Sanctuary.

This event has been developed for ages 2 - 5 years. Bookings are essential via Eventbrite, limited spots available. Terms and conditions apply.

This National Science Week event is free to the community as part of the Major Centers National Science Week Grants scheme.
