Meet the UNSW Women in Maths and Science Champions

  • -

What’s it like to be a woman in science?

Hear from five UNSW Sydney women scientists who are breaking gender stereotypes and encouraging girls to consider science as a career.

The speakers and their area of research are:

  • Dr Lisa Nivison-Smith, Optometry
  • Dr Poppy Watson, Psychology
  • Dr Laura McKemmish, Chemistry
  • Dr Zhi Yi Ong, Behavioural Neuroscience
  • Dr Celine Heu, Microscopy and Biology

They are all UNSW Women in Maths and Science Champions, part of a development program to support University of New South Wales female research students and early career scientists to become science professionals.

The champions will showcase their research and conduct a Q&A panel. Great for science buffs and high school students considering a career in science
