An educational and interactive talk about the latest research projects that cover bird cognition and behaviour and the impact of environmental changes in their habitat.
Kaarakin Black Cockatoo Conservation Centre is the only centre dedicated purely to the rescue, rehabilitation and release of the three threatened and endemic species of black cockatoos that inhabit southwest WA.
We are a not-for-profit relying on the dedication of over 150 volunteers to successfully rescue about 300 black cockatoos every year, travelling over 32,000 km to do so. Visit Girrawheen Library to meet one of our live education black cockatoos up close and learn more about their biology, threats and what you can do to help them.
Target audience: Suitable for children aged 6 and over.
