Brunswick South Primary School is running 4 incursions with biomedical engineer Dr Farrugia from Melbourne University. Dr Farrugia will speak about what a biomedical engineer does and provide examples of products that have been developed by biomedical engineers.
The students will then build something that a biomedical engineer might design. Students who are in Foundation to Year 2 will build a knee walker or a prosthetic leg out of Lego. Students who are in Years 3-4 will build a grabber (bionic arm) out of chopsticks and place different jaws on their grabber so that it is able to pick up a range of items.
