Flying-Fox Citizen Science Walk

Help monitor the biodiversity of Raven Street Reserve on a guided walk observing flying-fox species and learn more about these precious protected animals. You'll be led by a volunteer guide who will help you identify local species, learn new technology, and contribute towards an international biodiversity database.

Flying-foxes are the largest flying mammals in the world, are nocturnal and native to Australia. These bats are important to the environment and play a crucial role in the reproduction, regeneration and dispersal of plants across the landscape. 

Requirements: All children must be accompanied by an adult. Please wear a wide-brimmed hat, secure, fully enclosed walking shoes, sun-smart clothing, sunscreen and insect repellent. Please bring drinking water and a snack or picnic lunch as there are no food outlets on site.

Note: Any walks or outside activities are subject to weather and environmental conditions and may be cancelled on the day.
