Showcasing the brightest innovation, research and technology happening in Tasmania. The Festival of Bright Ideas is sizzling with exciting science to blow your curious and creative mind.

As Tasmania’s premier National Science Week event, come along and immerse yourself in the wonderful world of science through hands-on activities. Explore sustainability initiatives for a better world, meet scientists, and find out how Tasmanians contribute to the advancement of society and the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals.

A special feature of this year's festival is Questacon's Science on the Move exhibition. Explore science first-hand with Science on the Move’s 33 hands-on experiences and investigations. You can turn yourself into a battery, crank up a tornado in a bottle, try at escaping from handcuffs, catch sounds, and see the world through coloured filters.

There are three sessions available:

  • Session 1 - 9.00am to 11.30am
  • Session 2 - 11.30am to 2.00pm
  • Session 3 - 2.00pm to 4.30pm
