Family Science Day

  • - (AEST)
  • Western Sydney University Parramatta City Campus
162 Macquarie Street, Parramatta NSW 2150, Australia

Sydney Science Festival comes to Parramatta for a day of demonstrations, talks and hands-on activities designed to inspire people of all ages. The theme Revival is applied to diverse scientific topics and brings attention to sustainability, environmental rejuvenation and recovery.

This free family-friendly event invites participants to engage with a range of scientific disciplines including medicine, ecology, climate change and astronomy.

Delve into activities such as driving a replica Mars rovers through obstacle courses, building a rocket out of recycled materials or learning about biodiversity in your local environment.

Speed-meet a variety of scientists to discuss their area of expertise. Learn about animal and plant ecology then build a house for birds and bees to take home and revitalise your local environment.

Find your brain’s hidden superpower with the neuroscientists from the MARCS Institute of Brain, Behaviour and Development. Interact with the robots that help scientists learn more about humans.

Family Science Day is presented by Powerhouse as part of Sydney Science Festival in partnership with Western Sydney University and City of Parramatta.
