Climate Action: How to take effective action on climate change

  • -

How can we as individuals take effective action to reduce our carbon emissions? Most of us accept the science of climate change but it can be difficult to know how to best take action on it. This panel discussion will explore the opportunities and obstacles for reducing carbon emissions, with a goal of finding concrete actions that individuals can take.

The panel expertise spans science, business, economics, policy and politics, the media and community change. It will be hosted by Lee Constable and panellists are:

  • Prof. Lesley Hughes (Macquarie University, Climate Council);
  • Tennant Reed (AI Group);
  • Greg Bourne (Climate Council);
  • Assoc. Prof. Caroline Fisher (News & Media Research Centre, University of Canberra); and
  • Katerina Gaita (Climate for Change)

The panel will discuss questions like 'What is more effective- people taking personal steps to reduce their own impact or people pushing for major policy changes?' and 'What can we learn from success stories in emissions reduction?'. Members of the public are invited to send their questions in for the panel to discuss - email your questions or even upload a video question through the link on our website.
