We are very excited to announce that Telethon Kids Institute is bringing the inaugural Festival of STEM to Broome in August to celebrate National Science Week.

There will be two parts to the festival with a schools festival during the day and a community festival in afternoon.

The festival will take place at the Broome Civic Centre. Children and their families are invited to attend, with sessions and activities catered for different age groups.

People who attend will have the opportunity to meet a range of different Telethon Kids researchers & scientists who work in areas like END RHD, Vaccines and Infectious Diseases and Respiratory Health. We will have lots of interactive displays from Telethon Kids as well as local STEM organisations like Yawuru Aboriginal Corporation and local rangers. There will also be opportunities to yarn with scientists.

This is a free event with funding available for schools to cover buses to and from the venue.

Schools can register their interest via email.

For community sessions there is no need to register just come along to the Civic Centre between 3-5pm on 3 or 4 August.

There will also be a free sausage sizzle.
