Biggera Waters State School Science Fair Competition

The Biggera Waters State School Science Fair competition is open to all students from Prep to Year 6. Students are invited to submit their entry into the competition. All entries need to be accompanied by a Scientific Journal. Divisions and categories are the same as the Gold Coast Griffith University Science competition.  Winning entries will be invited to enter their project into this competition in early September.

Divisions: Prep, Year 1 & 2, Year 3 & 4 & Year 5 & 6.

Categories:

  1. Environment Action Project
  2. Communicating Science
  3. Scientific Investigations
  4. Engineering and Technology Projects
  5. Classified Collections.

Projects will be worked on at home and judged using an age-appropriate criteria. Students, teachers and parents will visit the Science Fair and students will be able to vote for their favourite registered entry. There are 2 people choice awards P-2 and 3 - 6.

Prizes will also be awarded to 1st place, Honourable mention and Encouragement awards. All students will receive a participation certificate.

On Tuesday 15 August the whole school will get to see a mini-science show presented by Sid Hooker from Griffith University and CSHS senior students and the Head of Science Department at CSHS.
