Axel Stenross Maritime MuseumThe Axel Stenross Maritime Museum features exhibits about the square rigged windjammers that took grain from the Eyre Peninsula to Europe in the 1800s, as well as displaying the boat building workshops and slipway that have been on the site since 1940.

The Museum is maintained and operated by a team of dedicated volunteers.

Alex Stenross was a Finnish ship's carpenter who settled in Port Lincoln in 1927. He initially worked for the railway but soon turned his skills to repairing and building ships. Axel's slipway was active until his death in 1980, and is now the site of the museum.

Open on Tuesday, Thursday & Sunday from 9.30 am – 4.30 pm and on Saturday & public holidays from 1.00 – 4.30 pm. Admission fees apply.
