The Burnie Makers’ Workshop reflects the making tradition of the town, from paper to mining machinery and dairy products.

A group of 30 local artisans display and sell their creations made from timber, textiles, glass, metal and gems. Interactive paper making tours are conducted regularly.

The gallery space features exhibitions, displays and workshops that change throughout the year.

There is a cafe, a giftshop, maker studio stores and a cheese shop onsite, as well as the Burnie visitor infomation centre.

Open everyday except 25 December, 1 January, Good Friday and 25 April. Entry is free.

The workshop is co-ordinated by the University of Tasmania.
