Discover Destination Moon – Yeppoon

National Science Week 2019 is all about Destination Moon. Come and explore, play, inquire and be challenged by the complexities and problems of lunar exploration.

Yeppoon Townhall will transform into a Space Agency Control Room. People of all ages are welcome to come and explore the wonders of the moon and test out your skills to see if you could become an astronaut.

Some of the activties include:

  • Renact the first human walking on the moon using greenscreen
  • Code a robot to autonomously navigate a lunar landscape maze
  • Create a digital moonscape
  • Use VR Technology to go for a moon walk, experience the Apollo 11 mission or save the International Space Station
  • Learn how to use newtonian reflector telescope to look at the full Moon

It promises to be a blast of a time!
