Cosmos Calling – Space the Next Frontier

A special Zonta Centenary event celebrates WA’s Women in Space. A planetarium show ‘Capturing the Cosmos’ is followed by presentations and panel discussion, chaired by Prof Lyn Beazley, MC, to get inspired by the work and lives of Dr Natasha Hurley-Walker, Dr Katarina Miljkovic & Dr Ellie Sansom.

The Zonta Club of Perth Inc proudly presents a special Zonta Centenary event. Be inspired by the ‘Capturing the Cosmos’ planetarium show followed by presentations and panel discussion to celebrate WA’s women in space. Professor Lyn Beazley, neuroscientist and former WA Chief Scientist, will MC an evening to share the work and lives of:

  • Dr Natasha Hurley-Walker, who uses precursor SKA radio telescopes to create a map of the sky in radio colou;
  • Dr Katarina Miljkovic, who leads the only Australian planetary science group working on NASA’s Mars InSight Mission;
  • Dr Ellie Sansom, who leads the Desert Fireball Network.

To celebrate the Centenary, feel free to dress up as someone from 100 years in the past or 100 years in the future – not compulsory.
