2019 is the International Year of Indigenous Languages. As part of National Science Week, Olive Pink Botanic Garden is hosting Apmereke Akaltye-irreme (Learning from the Land).
Guest speakers will share their story of how are ancient languages are translating into the digital age. What is app technology’s role in the communication of Indigenous languages?
Arid Lands Environment Centre will also be launching their climate change video that has been translated into Warlpiri and Arrernte. Kungkas Can Cook will be providing bush food tasters, with light snacks and refreshments provided. There will also be musical entertainment provided by Stuart Nugget.
