Why do bees dance? How do they see flowers that we can’t? And what makes native bees so important to our environment?

The hidden language of our native bees – See like a bee in UV! is a hands-on, nature-filled workshop designed especially for kids. Through music, movement, art and outdoor discovery, children will dive into the fascinating world of Australia’s native bees.

In this workshop, kids will:

  • Discover how bees see the world in ultraviolet light

  • Learn how bees communicate through dancing

  • Make bee-themed art to take home

  • Explore nature to spot pollinator-friendly plants

  • Learn how to create their own bee-friendly spaces at home

Led by Dr Amelie Vanderstock (Amelie Ecology), this interactive session will help young people build a deeper connection to nature while exploring science concepts like ecosystems, animal communication and sensory biology.

No lab coats needed, just curiosity, creativity, and a love for bees!
