The museum is currently closed for renovations.

Established in 1827, the Australian Museum is Australia’s first museum. Located in the heart of Sydney’s CBD it’s a hub of information, education, resources and research.

With a focus in communicating nature and culture the museum houses over 18 million objects in the fields of biology, anthropology and geology.

The Museum is a treasure-trove of discovery with stories of Indigenous Australians, native animals, insects, fish, skeletons, minerals, precious gemstones, dinosaurs… and much more!

The Australian Museum is open 9.30 am to 5.00 pm every day except 25 December.
