The CSIRO Discovery Centre showcases Australian scientific innovation and achievement. Nestled at the base of Black Mountain in Canberra, the Centre contains working science laboratories, an exhibition, boardroom, theatre, science education centre and café – complimented by spectacular atrium entrance.

Discovery presents science in an entertaining way to demystify it, and educate people of all ages about the fascinating world of research and innovation. The Centre supports science communication through its popular public programs and runs daily education activities for schools across the country.

The 90-minute minds-on, hands-on program gives students an insight into CSIRO’s work and the value of research to Australian society. Students get the opportunity to see real scientists in action, conduct experiments in the DiscoverLab, listen to the Live Creatures talk with stick insects and turtles, and explore interactive exhibitions with leading-edge 3D touch screens.
